In this post, we will be taking a look at what we feel is the best Yongnuo flash for Canon 70d cameras currently available on the market right now. With Yongnuo being one of the best third party flashes for Canon, it is no surprise that we constantly see people reaching out for advice on the brand and what products they should use for what Canon camera.
In this article, we will be focusing on two camera flashes that we feel will meet our reader’s needs. The first is a higher end camera flash that costs a little more but offers superior functionality and performance where the second Yongnuo flash is more budget friendly while offering less functionality. That said, both of the camera flashes have managed to earn themselves an excellent reputation within the photography community over the years and either of them will be a good investment.

The Yongnuo YN600EX-RT II
The flash works via the regular hot shoe mount system and it couldn’t be easier. Simply mount the YN600EX-RT II onto your 70d set up the flashes settings as required and start your photography session. The ease of use of the flash is one of its biggest selling points in our opinion and it can easily save you a bunch of time when using during a paid photography session helping you keep your client happy.
The image to the left shows the user interface and the control system for the YN600EX-RT II. Although the interface menu is a little different from other flash manufacturers, it is easy to navigate and will quickly become second nature to you. Key settings that you may need to tweak as a photographer are easy to find and tweak as required helping to save you even more time during your photography session.
The actual physical control system is also easy to use mainly being controlled by the main dial in the middle of the flash unit. The various other buttons allow you to customize various settings or quickly access commonly tweaked sections of the flash.
The YN600EX-RT II is able to support the various commonly used flash modes such as TTL, Manual, Guide Number, Group Flash, and Synchronous Flash. Additionally, the flash also supports both S1 and S2 modes that are fully compatible with both Canon and Nikon’s wireless master signal flash system allowing you to remotely activate your flash if required.
The Yongnuo YN 560 III
In our opinion, it is by far the best cheap flash for Canon 70d users by far and offers performance that you would expect from camera flashes that retail well above its price point. Again, it works via the regular hot shoe mounting system and is very quick and easy to use. Simply mount the Yongnuo YN 560 III onto your 70d, tweak any of the flash settings as required and crack on with your photography session as required.
The image to the right shows both the user interface system and control system of the Yongnuo YN 560 III. Although it is a little basic, this is to be expected for its price point. That said, it still offers all of the core functionality that you would expect from a camera flash as well as an easy to navigate the system.
The backlit LCD screen is also a feature commonly left off-camera flashes at this price point as a way to keep costs low but it helps the user with the flash in low light or night time conditions.
The flash also supports the Yongnuo RF-602 / RF-603 2.4G ultra-long range wireless flash system to allow you to remotely trigger the flash unit when required and the system is fully functioning up to a maximum distance of three hundred and twenty-eight feet.
