For today’s article, we are going to be taking a look at what we feel is the best selfie stick for Canon 80d cameras currently available on the market right now. We have noticed a number of photographers who own the 80d reaching out for advice over the last few months so decided to publish this in case any of our readers own the 80d.
The main fear that most people have when using either a mirrorless or DSLR camera with a traditional selfie stick is that it will simply be too weak to support the weight of the camera and drop it. Although this is true for many of the traditional selfie sticks currently on the market there is some hope for you and your 80d!

The Fugetek FT-568
As the 80d is on the heavier side of the supported cameras and the stick has a proven track history of being able to support its weight, we would not recommend that you fully extend the selfie stick to its fullest with the camera attached.
Another thing we would like to point out about the Fugetek FT-568 is that you do not need to use any of the included attachments with the stick to mount your 80d. The screw on the ball head of the selfie stick is the same thread as a standard tripod screw so it will directly connect to your camera allowing you to easily mount and unmount it as required.
The high-quality build of the stick really shines when using it with a heavier camera like the 80d. The handle is comfortable and allows you to use the stick for long periods even with the heavy camera mounted on it without getting cram or feeling any pain in your hand.
The Fugetek FT-568 also comes with a number of attachments so you are able to quickly and easily swap your camera out for an action camera or smartphone if needed with minimal effort while still capturing all the selfies you like.
The Fugetek FT-568 will make a great addition to your camera accessories and easily fit into your camera bag. If you are looking for a selfie stick that will mount your 80d, easily support its weight, and won’t break the bank then this is definitely the stick for you.

The AmazonBasics 67-Inch Monopod
Another reason that more and more people are using this method to essentially make their own selfie stick is due to the added monopod functionality provided by the monopod that a selfie stick can’t provide. For example, say you are traveling around Europe with your camera. Using this kind of setup allows you to capture selfies as and when required while also getting the image stabilization of the monopod for any landscape photographs you may want to capture.
One of the drawbacks of this type of rig is that if you are wanting to mount a smartphone or action camera on the monopod you will also have to pick up viable mounts for them. Although there are plenty of these on the market right now, it does increase the cost of making your own rig whereas the Fugetek FT-568 covered above is more of an all in one solution.
On the flip side though, your Canon 80d is probably the most valuable thing that you will be mounting on a homemade selfie stick so we would recommend prioritizing its safety over saving a few dollars on a mount for a smartphone or action camera. Additionally, many photographers tend to enjoy tinkering and customizing their rigs so you may enjoy the challenge of making your own selfie stick.
A homemade selfie stick based around a decent monopod can make a great addition to your 80d’s camera accessories. Although it requires a few bits it will still easily fit in your camera bag without taking up much space or adding much weight either.
