Today, we will be going over the best Manfrotto tripod for Sony a7Riii cameras available right now. Ordinarily, when we publish an article like this we would recommend viable alternatives throughout due to Manfrotto tripods being so expensive but due to the price tag of the a7R iii we would imagine most out our readers would probably still choose the Manfrotto tripod just for the additional peace of mind. That said, we will still be recommending one viable alternative throughout each section.
While we did try to settle on one single tripod for the a7R iii we actually ended up deciding to feature two of them. The first one is a general purpose tripod that can be used for the vast majority of things you can think of whereas the second one is a very small and lightweight tripod from Manfrotto that is ideal for traveling. If you like, you can click here to see the full range of Manfrotto tripods rather than focus on the two we have selected.
The Manfrotto MK190X3-2W
The build quality of the Manfrotto MK190X3-2W is second to none and really is a robust tripod that will provide all the image stabilization your a7R iii requires. As it is a general use tripod it is quite large, even when collapsed but as an aluminum tripod it is very lightweight considering its maximum height of 67 inches and the amount of image stabilization is can provide. Although not ideal for use as a travel tripod due to its size, we have seen reports from a number of photographers and videographers who use similarly sized tripods for travel photography and videography over the years without issue.
Being a Manfrotto tripod, it is no surprise that the quick release plate on the tripod is very smooth and easy to use allowing you to quickly mount your a7R iii camera body on the tripod when required to help improve your image quality without needing to waste time. If you have a number of different cameras in your collection then you can also pick up additional quick release plates (Click here to check for product prices and availability) for the tripod to be able to swap between your camera collection on the fly as you require.
Adding the Manfrotto MK190X3 tripod to your camera accessories will provide you with an excellent tripod for your Sony a7R iii that will help keep your camera stable and safe when in use. Coming from Manfrotto you can rest assured that it is excellent quality packed with useful little features.

The Manfrotto Compact Action Tripod
The hybrid joystick head on the tripod attempts to mix the functionality of both the ball head and the panhandle into one making the tripod ideal for both photography and videography without the need to carry additional tripod heads with you. Thankfully, the head actually does its job really well and the handle is perfect for any slow pan footage or for capturing some beautiful panoramic views.
Although it is a budget-friendly tripod, the build quality is still great and provides all the stability you will require for travel photography. The flip lock leg system is very stable and provides tons of image stabilization for your camera. One thing that we would like to point out is that the Manfrotto Compact Action Tripod does not have a counterweight hook on it meaning you are unable to add increased weight to it to help increase stability when outside in windy conditions. You can work around this by simply keeping hold of your camera when mounted to capture your photograph though.
