We have seen countless people reaching out for advice on a flash trigger for Canon 6d cameras that will work with a large number of flash units so we have decided to put the time in to write and publish this to try and help as many people in this situation as possible. Initially, it was a bit of a nightmare to get your hands on reliable flash triggers for the 6d but thankfully, a number of products have since been released onto the market that will work with your camera.
We will be featuring two main flash trigger systems in this article that both triggers work with the Canon 6d and have a good reputation within the community. Additionally, they are both budget-friendly allowing you to pick it up without breaking the bank. Where possible we will also be linking out to specific reviews from independent Canon 6d owners who use our recommended flash trigger system with their camera and have chosen to post a review of how the trigger performed for them.

The Yongnuo RF-603C-II-C3 Wireless Remote Flash Trigger Kit
The flash trigger couldn’t be easier to use either, simply mount it on the hot shoe mount on your Canon 6d set your wireless flash up as required and you are good to go about your flash photography session as required using the trigger as a remote control to trigger your collection of external camera flashes as required. Although it is technically the external flash units that improve your image quality, the added functionality by this wireless flash trigger helps you activate your flashes at the right time and can massively have an impact on the level of image quality you can capture.
The Yongnuo wireless flash trigger comes with sixteen different channels as well as 1/320 second sync speed allowing you to use it in pretty much any flash photography situation you can think of where you will need a remote. We would also like to point out, the links on this page have been set up so they will take you directly to the “C” variant of the trigger that is designed for Canon cameras and will work with your 6d. If you choose to pick this up in your local photography store instead be sure not to pick up the “N” variant for Nikon cameras. Both versions will have Yongnuo RF-603 on the box and then be followed by either an “N” or a “C”.
All in all, the Yongnuo RF-603C is a solid little budget friendly flash unit and will work with your Canon 6d without issue. If this is the type of thing that you are after then we would highly recommend that you consider picking it up.

The Godox X1C 2.4G Wireless Flash Transmitter
Not this Godox X1C offers increased functionality and customization as well as a higher build quality resulting in a price tag that is almost double that of the Yongnuo RF-603C covered above. In all honesty, we feel that the majority of our readers will have their needs met with the Yongnuo RF-603C (Click here to check for product prices and availability) while also saving some money by picking that trigger up over this Godox X1C one.
That said if you are a high-end photographer and specializing in various types of flash photography and doing paid client work then you can probably afford to pick up the Godox X1C for its increased functionality that you will probably end up using in your photography sessions anyway. The control system of the Godox X1C is also pretty straight forward considering the amount of customization that it offers you and we would imagine most people will be able to quickly pick it up and have it become second nature to them.
