The Rokinon FE8M-N 8mm F3.5 Fisheye Fixed Lens
The Rokinon 8mm will fit directly to the lens mount on your d3400 camera body without the need of any attachments of additional adapters or anything like that. It is also quick and easy to mount and unmount allowing you to quickly hot swap between your lenses on the fly as you wish. Being a prime lens based around the 8mm focal length you are able to quickly and easily use the manual focus ring on the lens to get your subject in focus before choosing to capture the photograph.
The low light performance of the lens has received a little criticism over the years but it can still produce photographs with decent image quality in low light situations but it is definitely better in areas with good lighting. We feel that the Rokinon 8mm will be able to meet the vast majority of fisheye photography needs of our readers if not all of them allowing you to easily capture all of the fisheye photographs you require.
If you are looking for a very fairly priced fisheye lens for your Nikon d3400 that outperforms the competition at its price point then we definitely feel that you should consider the Rokinon 8mm. Not only will it make a great little addition to your camera accessories but its ease of use and image quality will also help you to improve your fisheye photography performance with minimal effort too.

The Altura Photo 8mm f/3.0 Professional Fisheye Lens
As you would expect due to the lower price tag, the Altura Photo 8mm has a lower standard of build quality, provides less functionality and has a slightly lower level of performance when compared to the Rokinon 8mm covered above but on the flip side, at the time of writing at least, the Altura Photo 8mm is around half the price of the Rokinon 8mm. So as with most things in life, it is a trade-off between what you want that only you are able to make.
Again, the Altura Photo 8mm has also received some criticism due to its low light performance but in all honesty, for its price tag we feel that it is just people being picky as you can’t expect everything out of such a low priced lens. That said, it can still provide you with a very good level of image quality and provide you with some great little fisheye photographs.
If you are just looking to dabble in fisheye photography and are looking for a low price lens that’s not going to break the bank then the Altura Photo 8mm is definitely a lens that you should seriously consider picking up.
