Akaso EK7000 Extreme Sports Performance
The list of extreme sports is almost endless these days and you are able to use the EK7000 to capture your experiences with them all. That said, due to water-based sports needing slightly different requirements to land-based sports, we will be covering them in the section below this one. There are also a number of third-party reviews of the cameras extreme sports performance that have been left by the ever-growing EK7000 user base of extreme sports enthusiasts.
The image stabilization technology in the EK7000 does an excellent job of minimizing any vibrations common with extreme sports from showing up in your footage and spoiling your video. The camera performs very well in various light conditions allowing you to record sharp, vibrant video no matter your location or the time of day.
Although the camera is surprisingly rugged and durable for its cost, when doing most extreme sports we would recommend that you place it in its included case for added protection. This has no effect on your photo, video, or audio quality while also offering you additional piece of mind that your camera is safe.
Although there are a number of Akaso EK7000 Mounts included in the box when you purchase the camera, while in its case you are also able to use some additional Akaso EK7000 Accessories to better capture your sport.
These accessories include:-
- The Ultimate 22 Piece Accessories Kit for AKASO EK7000 (Click here to check for product prices and availability)
- The Akaso EK7000 Selfie Stick (Click here to check for product prices and availability)
- The Aakaso EK7000 Flexible Tripod (Click here to check for product prices and availability)
- The Aakaso EK7000 Chest Strap (Click here to check for product prices and availability)
- The Akaso EK7000 Head Strap (Click here to check for product prices and availability)
- The Akaso EK7000 Wrist Strap (Click here to check for product prices and availability)
For example, if you are skateboarding, you are able to attach your EK7000 to a tripod and place it near your jump. Before you start skating towards the jump you can then use the Akaso EK7000 Remote included with your initial purchase to activate the camera and start recording without needing a second person to be there to help you.
The footage in the video below was recorded using the Akaso ek7000 during a winter sports trip while snowboarding. It is recorded using the standard Akaso EK7000 Helmet Mount that is included in the box when purchasing the camera. We chose to use a winter based sport to show how the camera is able to deal with regular sunlight as well as its reflection off the snow in a range of different lighting conditions.
Akaso EK7000 Underwater Performance
The Akaso ek7000 is waterproof down to a depth of one hundred foot or thirty meters helping to make it the ideal budget alternative to the much more expensive GoPro cameras for any waterbased sports. It has proven popular amongst both the water sports community and the underwater sports community with many users of the Akaso ek7000 choosing to leave many independent reviews of their water-based adventures using the camera.
When recording footage or taking photographs underwater with this camera, your images and recordings are sharp, clear, and stable even when in rough water or low light conditions, just check out the video at the end of this section for example footage. The camera also records sound really well even when in its waterproof case allowing you to preserve the full experience.
The camera is also surprisingly good at being able to record or photograph sea life that is in the distance too. Photographs taken when underwater have excellent color contrast allowing you to capture all of the vivid colors commonly associated with coral reefs to preserve your memories for a lifetime.
Depending on your sport of choice you may wish to also pick up a high-quality Akaso ek7000 compatible floating handle (Click here to check for product prices and availability) when using the camera in and around water. This will ensure that your camera will float if you drop it as well as make it easier to see in either white water surf or cloudy, low light water. If you are using the camera to record your underwater adventures then you are able to secure the floating handle to your arm via the wrist strap.
The video below was recorded using the Akaso ek7000 and shows some sample footage of how the camera is able to perform underwater needing nothing but the Akaso EK7000 Waterproof Case that you get included as standard with your purchase.
Akaso EK7000 Family Video Performance
Due to their small size, lightweight, reliability, and excellent picture and video quality, there is an ever increasing number of people choosing to use action cameras as their go-to recording device for family holidays. Their performance is usually better than a mobile phone and with the low price tag of the Akaso EK7000, it is easy to replace it if it ends up damaged, lost or stolen.
We have already covered the various features of the camera in the sections above that can make it the ideal choice for your family holiday action cam. Additionally, there are already some EK7000 users who are using the camera in this way and posting reviews of their experiences with the camera when using it with their family.
The video below was recorded by an independent family while on holiday in Orlando Florida. We feel that it does an excellent job of showing off exactly what the EK7000 is capable of. It features sharp, vibrant video recordings with excellent contrast.
Akaso EK7000 4K WiFi Performance
Moving on in our Akaso ek7000 4k action cam review, we would like to start talking about the performance of specific features of the product rather than the uses of it as we have been above. First up, we have the Akaso ek7000 wifi capability.
Thankfully, the wifi on the ek7000 is quick and easy to use. It only takes a matter of seconds to set up and connect to your home network allowing you to transfer photographs and videos if you like or downloading any required software updates for the camera.
Akaso EK7000 Battery Life
Next up, we will be taking a quick look at the Akaso ek7000 battery performance. Two rechargeable lithium-ion 1050mAh batteries are included with the camera as standard when you purchase it. You are able to use the micro USB connector to recharge your battery while inside the camera if you like and if you have access to an external power pack that you can connect to your camera while recording your sport, you can record indefinitely.
That said, we would recommend that you pick up the Akaso external battery charger with a set of spare batteries included (Click here to check for product prices and availability). This will allow you to hot swap between your battery sets to increase the amount of time you are able to record at any given time. The battery charger is also able to charge two batteries at a time and with this combination, you effectively increase your battery life by four times.
That said, the battery life of the camera can vary drastically depending on what you are doing with your camera. If you are just using it to snap photographs then a single fully charged battery is able to last you between eight and twelve hours. If you are recording video then a single fully charged battery will last you around the ninety-minute mark before it needs to be either swapped out or recharged.
There are a number of EK7000 users who are so impressed with the battery life of the camera, they have chosen to mention it in their review of the camera when sharing their experiences with it.
Akaso EK7000 Image Stabilization
Next up on our Akaso ek7000 review is the Akaso ek7000 stabilization technology. Although the majority of the time, the stabilization is spot on and will help you get sharper photographs and smoother videos. About ten percent of the time it does seem to be hit and miss with this issue being more prevalent in low light conditions.
In all honesty though, considering, at the time at writing at least the EK7000 is around a fifth of the price of the flagship GoPro we feel that this is a worthwhile trade-off. Even when the image stabilization is playing up the video recordings are fine and you can still see what is happening.
Akaso EK7000 Time Lapse Feature
Next up, we will be taking a look at the Akaso ek7000 time-lapse settings and capabilities. In my opinion, this is one of the best features about this camera as unlike the competing action cameras at this price point that give you some pre-set time-lapse setting intervals, the EK7000 allows you to choose your interval for your situation.
This is useful as a good time-lapse can be used as a quick and easy intro to your video if you are planning on publishing it on your YouTube channel. For example, if your sport of choice is surfing, you are able to set a slower time-lapse interval up and record movements of the tide before you start surfing. On the flip side, if your sport of choice is skiing, you are able to set a short time-lapse interval up to record your ride up the gondola to the mountaintop.
You can also take advantage of the customizable time-lapse settings to use it in the middle of your video too. For example, if your sport of choice is skateboarding then you are able to set the EK7000 up on a compatible tripod (Click here to check for product prices and availability) and set it off to the side of the skate park. You can then set a short time-lapse interval of maybe five seconds and have it take time-lapse photographs of you riding around the various areas of the skate park. You can then blend all of these images together in post-production and place them in your video for a nice change of pace.
Akaso EK7000 Sound Quality
There’s not much else we can say about the Akaso ek7000 audio performance as we have mentioned earlier in our review of the ek7000 and how we feel about it. Just to quickly recap though, the microphone on the camera is very good for the price point, it does not muffle when the hard case is placed on the camera and it has a decent range of tones that it is able to pick up perfectly.
In case you skipped past them, the second video example in this article about the cameras underwater performance is a good example of its sound quality and the Akaso EK7000s Microphone Performance.
Akaso EK7000 Accessories
Although we have been mentioning relevant accessories for the EK7000 throughout the article where we feel they would be best able to improve your experiences with the camera, here are a number of accessories that we haven’t had a chance to mention yet.
Akaso EK7000 SD Card
First up we have a suitable, and compatible Akaso ek7000 memory card (Click here to check for product prices and availability). The camera requires a class 10 SD Card and we would recommend that you pick up a 64gb if possible although a 32gb card can work too. This will allow you to record and save plenty of 4k video onto the card without the need to swap the card out when it gets full.

Akaso EK7000 Red Filter
Although this next one actually depends on your sport of choice, we have a suitable Red Filter for your Akaso EK7000 (Click here to check for product prices and availability). The ones linked simply attach to the lens grip on the case included with the EK7000 allowing you some additional customization.
They are quick and easy to fit to your camera case and can help improve your image and video quality while underwater in a number of different conditions. Unless you have a specific use for these filters then we would not recommend them if your sport of choice is land or air based.

Akaso EK7000 Battery Charger
Although we mentioned it earlier, we just wanted to quickly mention it again as we feel the Akaso ek7000 charger (Click here to check for product prices and availability) is an essential bit of kit.
Not only does it allow you to charge your existing batteries quickly and at the same time, it also comes with an additional two batteries with the charger. This helps you stay out longer while still being able to record what you are doing.

Akaso EK7000 Action Cam 4k Test Footage
The video below shows some Akaso EK7000 footage taken as a test while out riding a motorbike. The video is recorded was recorded using a high-quality Akaso EK7000 compatible chest mount (Click here to check for product prices and availability).
As you can see, for the low price tag of the camera, the Akaso EK7000 video performance is actually on point offering a crisp recording with a solid frame rate. The image stabilization of the camera also does an excellent job of minimizing the effects of the vibrations from the bike on the video recording too.
Akaso EK7000 vs GoPro Hero
Out comparison table above shows some of the key features for the Akaso EK7000 vs GoPro Hero. At the time of writing, the GoPro Hero 6 Black (Click here to check for product prices and availability) is the current GoPro flagship model. Although the two action cameras may look similar in performance capability on the table above, in reality, and as expected, the GoPro comes out on top for almost everything.
The real question should be asking when looking at the Akaso ek7000 4k vs GoPro cameras is if you think that the GoPro is five times better than the EK7000 to match its price tag. In our honest opinion, its not and the EK70000 does an excellent job at providing a solid budget or entry-level action cam that will not break the bank.
